Krypton is a superhero/sci-fi, action/drama series developed by David S. Goyer for Syfy. It's based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and other characters from DC Comics. The show is produced by Phantom Four Films, D.C. Entertainment, and Warner Horizon Television and distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution. The series stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Shaun Sipos, Elliott Cowan, and Ann Ogbomo.

.

200 years before the birth of Superman, Val-El (Ian McElhinney), Seg-El's grandfather, is executed for treason by the corrupt regime that rules the city of Kandor. This results in banishment to the lower class slums and loss of privileges for Seg (Cameron Cuffe) and his parents. Fourteen years later, the same man who condemned the Els, chief magistrate Daron-Vex (Elliott Cowan), arranges for his youngest daughter Nyssa (Wallis Day) to marry Seg and restore him to the upper classes. This complicates his romantic relationship with Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell), a member of the Sagitari (a police/ paramilitary faction) and; daughter of the Primus, who leads them and his parents whose class will not change by the marriage. Everything changes however when Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos), a man from future Earth, tells Seg to find his grandfather's research and Fortress of Solitude to prevent Superman from never existing.

This show is pretty good. In all honesty it's better than other shows I have seen that do a bad job in relating to the source material. Now obviously it couldn't match the awesomeness of the introduction sequence of the film Man of Steel, which to me was the whole reason I even wanted to watch the show in the first place. But it does a good job in expanding the universe and world building their own unique version of Krypton and everything about it, including its people, their customs, and laws, etc. This show has a good way of moving the plot along and keeping things interesting. What I don't like is the dialogue sometimes, also I didn't particularly like certain characters "arcs" or how they grew and changed. The action is really good and so are the effects, I really enjoyed how the different classes interact and the history of the houses. I think where they need to be careful is incorporating characters that are too well known into the show. In season 2, it's pretty cool to see Lobo but i have very mixed feelings about this version of him. And I'm still waiting to see how they do Doomsday, but I'm a big fan so I'm worried. Hopefully it's not as bad as the Batman vs Superman version. I think it's a good show especially for not having Superman in it or any of the other Justice League characters and I'm still intrigued to see where they go with it. I give this show a 7/10.
